Throughout the month of May, Metruna is hosting a heartfelt charity campaign in collaboration with the Tartu University Hospital Children’s Foundation. The goal is to raise funds to help children with rare diseases receive the treatments they need.

The Children’s Foundation is one of the oldest and largest charitable organizations working alongside children’s hospitals in Estonia. It assists children who need help covering the costs of life-saving medications, therapies, medical equipment, and other essential yet expensive treatments. Over its 24 years of operation, the Foundation has supported approximately 5,000 children throughout the country.

Metruna is proud to contribute to this mission and invites all its customers and partners to participate. During the campaign period (May 1–31, 2025), Metruna will donate 1 euro to the Children’s Foundation for every ton of scrap metal received. We encourage individuals and businesses alike to bring their scrap metal to Metruna this May — even small quantities make a difference and many small contributions can create a significant impact!

Karolis Indrulėnas, CEO of Metruna OÜ, states that Metruna’s main goal is to help build a better tomorrow — both by protecting the environment and supporting those in need. “Charity is our way of demonstrating that even small actions — like bringing in scrap metal — can be meaningful,” he said.

In addition to bringing scrap metal to Metruna, you can make a personal donation at any Metruna drop-off point. Simply choose your preferred amount: €1, €3, €5, or €10. Each donor will receive a thank-you postcard — a reminder of the difference you’ve made in a child’s life.

This May, take the opportunity to do a proper spring clean and bring your scrap metal to Metruna. Let’s do something good — for both the planet and the children who need our help.

You can also support the Children’s Foundation directly; if you’d like to make a personal contribution, here is the account number for donations:
